# The PV Index

> The PV Index (https://thepvindex.com/) is a free, independent directory of the global solar photovoltaic (PV) industry: 1,500 listings in 10 categories (manufacturers, equipment and balance-of-system suppliers, storage and O&M, developers and EPC contractors, software, events, courses, careers, media and organisations) across 86 countries.

It is for anyone researching the solar PV industry, for example people looking for suppliers, installers, developers, software, trade shows, training or industry bodies in a given country.

How the data is sourced and dated: listings are compiled from each organisation's own official website and public materials, and from industry associations and trade media. New listings are reviewed by hand. Inclusion and order are not for sale; there are no paid or affiliate placements. Current release v1.0.29, data as of 2026-10-27; every change is listed in the changelog. Event dates come from organiser websites, and listing pages show a "Last checked" date where one is recorded.
